Jamai Blivin
Executive Director
Innovate-Educate

Jamai Blivin is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Innovate-Educate and Innovate-Educate New Mexico.

Jamai approached Intel in New Mexico in fall 2008 to help start an organization focusing on a pre-competitive, collaborative approach for top Fortune 500 companies to align their efforts much more systemically to advance education in the U. S. Innovate-Educate has a board of directors comprised of top IT companies in the U.S. who are working together to align efforts in STEM and innovation in education. National partners of Innovate-Educate include Council of State Governments (CSG), Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM (TIES), Office of STEM Partnerships at Northwestern University, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Science Foundation of Arizona STEM Center, Ohio STEM Center, NC STEM, K-20 California Educational Technology Collaborative, and NGA’s Center for Best Practices.

Jamai previously was the Director of the Education Foundation for the North Carolina Technology Association (2004-2008). Believing New Mexico was the “perfect size” to align industry efforts around STEM education and to serve as an incubator for transformation in education, she relocated to Santa Fe, N.M. in summer 2008, after having left New Mexico for college almost 30 years prior.

Jamai spent over 16 years as a financial consultant and investment advisor, managing over $120 million in assets for high net worth individuals and corporations. In 2002, Blivin chose to leave the investment business to pursue her passion for education. Blivin taught middle school in Little Rock, Ark. and Durham, N.C., before starting her work to create lasting partnerships between industry, education, and government leadership.

Blivin received her B.S.B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas. She has consulted for state programs, IT companies, research universities and K-12 systems to promote STEM education and industry/education partnerships. She and her family reside in Santa Fe.
